Quartararo Frustrated with Yamaha’s Progress: “Relationship Getting Tense” Amid V4 Uncertainty

Fabio Quartararo has revealed that his relationship with Yamaha is becoming strained due to a lack of significant progress with the M1 in the 2025 MotoGP season.

The 2021 world champion, who re-signed with Yamaha last year after assurances of technical improvements, has expressed growing frustration despite securing four poles and two podiums this season. While Yamaha has shown some positive steps, Quartararo remains unconvinced about their long-term competitiveness.

Yamaha’s proposed V4 engine, set for a potential 2026 debut, has been a major talking point. However, Quartararo downplayed its importance, stating: “I don’t care if it’s the V4 or not—I just want a competitive bike next year.” He emphasized that lap time improvements matter more than technical specifications.

After a mixed German GP—where he finished third in the wet sprint but struggled in dry conditions—Quartararo admitted, “It’s getting a little tense because we’re always expecting more improvements, but we’re not seeing them.”

With his future beyond 2026 uncertain, Quartararo’s patience with Yamaha appears to be wearing thin as he demands a bike capable of fighting at the front.
