Raul Fernandez admitted to feeling both exhausted and relieved after successfully completing the 2026 Sepang MotoGP test, following injury-hit outings at the Malaysian circuit over the previous two seasons.
The Trackhouse Aprilia rider, who emerged as a surprise race winner in 2025, ended the three-day test tenth overall, finishing 0.843 seconds behind pacesetter Alex Marquez of Gresini Ducati.
Reflecting on his week at Sepang, Fernandez said simply finishing the test was a big positive for him. After failing to get through the opening day in each of the last two years due to injuries, he welcomed the chance to push himself across all three days.
He described the test as crucial, particularly in finalising the aerodynamic package ahead of the Thailand round. With no opportunity to homologate a new aero setup once the season begins, Fernandez stressed the importance of committing to the right direction now.
The Spaniard was pleased that the team reached a decision on an aero configuration that suits his riding style, calling the outcome of the test a satisfying and confidence-boosting step heading into the final pre-season preparations.
