Ruben Amorim Relieved as Rashford No Longer His Concern

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim admitted he took a big risk by not replacing Marcus Rashford in the January transfer window but is “thankful” the forward is now at Aston Villa. Despite United’s struggles in front of goal, Amorim opted against signing reinforcements, loaning out both Rashford and Antony to Real Betis, prioritizing long-term squad rebuilding over short-term fixes.

Acknowledging the gamble amid poor results, Amorim remains confident in his approach, emphasizing that avoiding past transfer mistakes was a priority. “We are in a difficult situation, but I have a clear idea of what I want to do. I take these risks because I believe they will pay off,” he said ahead of United’s FA Cup clash against Leicester City.

Meanwhile, United confirmed Lisandro Martinez will be sidelined with a knee injury, while Luke Shaw is also being carefully managed. Amorim hinted that new signings Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven could feature against Leicester as he continues reshaping the squad.
