Salah Wins Record Third PFA Player of the Year

Mohamed Salah has become the first player to claim the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Men’s Player of the Year award three times after leading Liverpool to the Premier League title last season.

The Egyptian forward scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists as Liverpool secured their 20th English top-flight crown with four matches to spare. Salah previously won the award in the 2017/18 and 2021/22 campaigns.

The 33-year-old also picked up the Football Writers’ Association and Premier League Player of the Year awards earlier this year.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was named Young Player of the Year after a breakout season that included his England senior debut.

Salah is joined in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year by Liverpool teammates Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and new signing Milos Kerkez. Arsenal’s William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Declan Rice were also selected, along with Nottingham Forest duo Matz Sels and Chris Wood, and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, who finished second in the Golden Boot race.

In the women’s awards, Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey won Player of the Year after scoring 19 goals and helping the Gunners secure the Champions League. Her new teammate, Olivia Smith, earned Young Player of the Year following a standout season at Liverpool.
