Son Heung-min Files Blackmail Complaint Over False Pregnancy Claim

Tottenham Hotspur and South Korea national team captain Son Heung-min has filed a formal complaint with police in South Korea, alleging he was the target of a blackmail attempt involving a false pregnancy claim, his agency confirmed on Thursday.

In a statement, Son & Football Limited said:

“The police are currently investigating, so we will let you know the results as soon as they are available.
We’d like to tell you that Son Heung-min is clearly the victim of this incident.”

According to Korean media reports, authorities have arrested a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s, who allegedly attempted to extort money from the 32-year-old football star by falsely claiming the woman was pregnant with his child.

The case is being handled by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, though officials have yet to make a public comment.

Son remains one of the most beloved sports figures in South Korea, admired not only for his Premier League success with Spurs but also for his leadership and commitment as captain of the national team.

This incident comes amid Son’s preparations for the upcoming Premier League season, with his club and fans likely rallying behind him as the investigation unfolds.
