BMW’s bid to replace Toprak Razgatlioglu with a MotoGP star has been rejected, with Motosprint reporting Maverick Vinales declined an approach to join the manufacturer’s World Superbike line-up in 2026.
The rumour mill suggests Danilo Petrucci will move from Barni Ducati to BMW when Razgatlioglu departs for Pramac Yamaha in MotoGP. Michael van der Mark’s future is also uncertain, potentially leaving two seats open.
Vinales, however, appears set to remain with Tech3 KTM after impressing in 2025 with strong performances and helping develop the RC16 package. He currently sits 11th in the MotoGP standings, just ahead of KTM factory rider Brad Binder.
BMW may now turn to other big-name WorldSBK veterans such as Alvaro Bautista, Jonathan Rea, or Andrea Iannone, all of whom are out of contract for 2026.
