Zarco Eyes Suzuka 8 Hours Defence, Welcomes Jack Miller’s Return

Johann Zarco is set to defend his Suzuka 8 Hours title this August, returning with Honda HRC after his successful debut win in 2024. Partnering again with Takumi Takahashi, Zarco is joined by new teammate Iker Lecuona as they aim for Honda’s fourth straight win in the prestigious FIM Endurance World Championship race.

Now the top Honda rider in MotoGP after ten rounds, Zarco brings strong momentum from a season that’s already included a victory and podium finish. Reflecting on his test preparations, Zarco noted key improvements in wet and dry conditions, especially in tyre management and bike set-up.

One major change for the 2025 Suzuka race is Honda’s switch from Showa to Ohlins suspension. Zarco praised the new setup, particularly its stability under braking, though he acknowledged more development is needed to improve rider ease and pace.

With greater experience, Zarco has taken a larger role in development, but still emphasizes track familiarity as the ultimate advantage at Suzuka.

He also welcomed the return of Jack Miller, who will compete with factory Yamaha for the first time at Suzuka since 2017. Zarco believes Miller’s participation is a boost for Yamaha and could be a timely opportunity for the Australian rider to shine.

The 46th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours will run from August 1–3, shortly after the MotoGP rounds in Germany and the Czech Republic.
