Marc Marquez Tops Final Practice at Aragon MotoGP as Acosta Closes In

Championship leader Marc Marquez remained fastest in final practice for the 2025 Aragon MotoGP, but this time with a much slimmer margin—just 0.141s ahead of KTM’s Pedro Acosta.

Acosta led a strong showing for KTM, placing three riders inside the top five, with Franco Morbidelli’s VR46 Ducati splitting the group in third.

Alex Marquez, who trails his brother Marc in the championship and was second quickest on Friday, suffered a fall during the session alongside HRC’s Joan Mir.

Qualifying 1 will now begin for those outside the top ten on Friday, including three-time pole winner Fabio Quartararo and Silverstone victor Marco Bezzecchi.

HRC’s Luca Marini is sidelined this weekend due to multiple injuries sustained during a Superbike test in Suzuka. Rookie Ai Ogura also remains out, still recovering from injuries at Silverstone. Neither rider has been replaced.

Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez is making his fourth appearance of the season, this time as a wild-card after subbing in for Miguel Oliveira earlier in the year. Meanwhile, Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori continues to stand in for the injured world champion Jorge Martin.

Looking ahead, the first official in-season MotoGP test of 2025 is set to take place at Jerez on Monday.
