Brivio credits Trackhouse riders after Assen MotoGP dominance over factory Aprilia

Trackhouse MotoGP team principal Davide Brivio believes the difference between his squad and the factory Aprilia outfit at the Dutch Grand Prix came down to rider performance rather than machinery.

Trackhouse enjoyed a dream weekend at Assen, securing a one-two finish in both races. Raul Fernandez won Saturday’s Sprint ahead of teammate Ai Ogura, while the Japanese rookie returned the favour on Sunday by claiming his maiden MotoGP victory with Fernandez finishing second.

In contrast, the factory Aprilia team endured a less successful weekend. Jorge Martin managed fourth in the Sprint before recovering to finish third in the Grand Prix, while Marco Bezzecchi crashed out of Sunday’s race after placing fifth on Saturday.

Despite the contrasting results, Brivio insisted there was no equipment advantage for Trackhouse, stressing that both Aprilia teams use identical machinery and work closely together throughout the weekend.

“It’s important to understand that we have exactly the same material,” Brivio said.

“We share all the information. Our engineers meet every day together, so there’s complete openness and collaboration on everything.”

Brivio credited Fernandez and Ogura for making the difference on track, saying both riders were simply able to extract more performance from the RS-GP around Assen.

“Our riders were better this weekend,” he added, highlighting that their pace, consistency and execution across both races were the key factors behind Trackhouse’s remarkable one-two finishes.

The result marked one of the strongest weekends in Trackhouse’s MotoGP history and underlined the growing competitiveness of Aprilia’s satellite outfit alongside the factory team.
