History was made at the YONEX French Open, as Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping captured their third consecutive mixed doubles crown and An Se Young continued her dominance in women’s singles.
Feng/Huang Secure Historic Mixed Doubles Hat-Trick
World No.1 duo Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping stormed to a dominant 21-10, 21-13 victory over Hoo Pang Ron/Lai Pei Jing in the mixed doubles final, becoming the first pair in a century to win three straight French Open titles.
Coming off recent runner-up finishes at the Arctic Open and Denmark Open, the Chinese pair credited mental preparation and support for their resurgence:
“The technical approach was the same. We focused on motivating ourselves and making a mental adjustment,” shared Huang Dong Ping.
Despite a demanding schedule, Feng and Huang were determined to bounce back:
“We were really tired, but we had prepared well mentally and were confident today. We learned from the last two tournaments, pumped ourselves up and encouraged each other.”
The Paris crowd once again provided a special atmosphere, with Feng/Huang expressing gratitude for the French fans’ support.
An Se Young Adds Another Trophy to Remarkable Season
There was more history in the women’s singles, as reigning world No.1 An Se Young fought from a set down to defeat Pusarla V. Sindhu 16-21, 21-11, 21-12, claiming her fourth French Open title and her 48th career trophy.
Fresh off her Denmark Open win (where she became the most successful women’s singles player in history), An again showed her resilience, adjusting her strategy to overcome an early deficit:
“I focused on my defence… I tried not to rush,” said An, who gradually wore down Sindhu with patience and long rallies.
With back-to-back Super 750 titles, An is set for well-earned celebrations—and a bit of rest—after another iconic week in Paris.
The 2026 French Open finals will be remembered for these exceptional landmarks on a day that celebrated greatness and resilience.
