Red Bull has confirmed that Isack Hadjar will sit out his third consecutive Formula 1 race due to his ongoing recovery from a wrist injury, meaning Liam Lawson will once again partner Max Verstappen at the parent team for this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid. Yuki Tsunoda will continue with Racing Bulls after his recall, securing another F1 start at the new Madring circuit.
Hadjar, who fractured his wrist while boxing during the summer break, is progressing well but is “not yet ready to return to the cockpit,” according to Red Bull. He will be on-site in Madrid to support the team.
Since Hadjar’s injury, Lawson has stepped up from Racing Bulls, scoring seventh at Zandvoort, though he missed out on points in Monza due to an engine penalty. Tsunoda, meanwhile, claimed his first point of the season in Italy, finishing tenth, though Audi is still reviewing the circumstances surrounding a formation lap incident.
Red Bull’s cautious approach means Hadjar will miss a third straight round, with a return date still to be determined as the F1 calendar moves forward.
