Reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez and Gresini rider Fermin Aldeguer are set to represent Ducati during Monday’s important 850cc test at Brno.
The session will mark the first opportunity for current MotoGP riders to experience machinery designed for the championship’s new 2027 regulations, which include smaller 850cc engines, the removal of ride-height devices, reduced aerodynamics and a switch to Pirelli tyres.
With only a limited number of prototype motorcycles and tyres available, manufacturers are expected to field just two riders each for the test.
Selecting those riders has become a delicate issue for several factories, particularly with major rider market changes expected ahead of the 2027 season.
According to reports, Ducati has chosen the two riders who are expected to remain with the Italian manufacturer next year — factory star Marc Marquez and rising talent Fermin Aldeguer.
The test is expected to provide valuable early feedback as manufacturers begin developing bikes for MotoGP’s next technical era.
Aprilia are also expected to field a strong line-up, with Marco Bezzecchi among the riders set to get their first taste of the new-generation machine.
All five factory manufacturers are preparing for significant changes under the new regulations, making the Brno test a key milestone in shaping the future of MotoGP competition.
Beyond evaluating the new 850cc engines, riders will also assess the impact of reduced aerodynamic packages and Pirelli tyres, two changes expected to significantly alter bike behaviour and racing dynamics from 2027 onwards.
