Malaysia’s young men’s doubles shuttler Aaron Tai is making the most of his European tour, gaining valuable experience against some of the biggest names in world badminton alongside partner Yap Roy King.
The 20-year-old has already faced former world champions, Olympic gold medallists and the current world No. 1 pair during their four-tournament European campaign.
Despite losing to Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik at the Denmark Open and Kim Won-ho-Seo Seung-jae at the French Open, the experience has helped the young partnership understand the demands of competing at the highest level.
They also delivered two major upsets at the Hylo Open, beating Indonesia’s top seeds Sabar Karyaman-Moh Reza before defeating defending champions Chiu Hsiang-chieh-Wang Chi-lin to reach the semi-finals.
With coach Herry Iman Pierngadi confirming that the pair will remain together as a permanent partnership, Aaron-Roy King now have a clearer path to develop their potential.
