Sunderland, playing their first European match since 1973, delighted a packed Stadium of Light with a hard-fought win over AZ Alkmaar. After a dominant first half, the Black Cats broke the deadlock from the penalty spot—Enzo Le Fee converting after being fouled in the box. Robin Roefs made a crucial late save to preserve the win, sending Sunderland fans into raptures. “We fully deserve this moment and we are going to keep pushing this season,” said defender Trai Hume.
