Jorge Martin Confident Aprilia Upgrades Will Deliver Another Step Forward at Le Mans MotoGP

Jorge Martin arrives at the Le Mans MotoGP weekend brimming with confidence, convinced that recent Aprilia upgrades have brought a significant step forward in his pursuit of team-mate Marco Bezzecchi’s championship lead. Following a productive post-race test at Jerez, Martin reported feeling more comfortable and in tune with his RS-GP, despite finishing tenth on the timesheets among Aprilia riders.

“Every new thing I was putting on the bike, I was feeling another step forward,” Martin shared. “I cannot say what [the parts are], but they helped me to turn a bit better, have a bit more of rear grip, and everything is becoming more natural for my style. Every time I go on the track I feel more on my bike.”

After missing part of winter testing and last year’s Le Mans race due to injury, Martin is eager to validate Aprilia’s technical progress at a different circuit. “I’m confident for this weekend. The Jerez tests were positive and now the goal is to confirm the progress made on different tracks as well,” he said. “This will be highly important in order to validate the new technical solutions. I feel rather good physically, even better than in recent races, and I’m convinced that we’ll be able to take another step forward here.”

Martin, who won at Le Mans in 2024 as a Pramac Ducati rider, is hoping to close the eleven-point gap to Bezzecchi, whose own victory streak was snapped at Jerez. Bezzecchi, excited to return to the French circuit, stated, “It is a fantastic circuit and there are always a lot of fans. I’m quite keen to continue doing well, so we’ll try to put in a good weekend.”

As the title battle heats up, both Aprilia riders are focused on maximizing their performance and maintaining momentum in the fiercely competitive MotoGP championship.
