Tottenham Hotspur have signed Ukraine forward Mykhailo Mudryk on a season-long loan from Chelsea, just weeks after the 25-year-old was cleared to play following a reduced anti-doping ban.
Mudryk, who previously starred under Roberto De Zerbi at Shakhtar Donetsk, is eager to make an impact in north London. “I can’t wait to start training and playing for the club, and I’m so excited to be reunited with Roberto De Zerbi. I’m a player who brings speed and creativity, and I want to help in both the offensive and defensive areas,” Mudryk told Tottenham’s website.
Mudryk made 73 appearances and scored 10 goals for Chelsea after joining from Shakhtar in January 2023 but struggled to establish himself before his suspension for meldonium use in 2024. His four-year ban was reduced after an appeal involving the FA and WADA.
The Ukrainian international joins a Spurs squad that has spent around £300 million this summer, with Tottenham also adding defender Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea for a reported £7 million.
“Having worked with Misha earlier in his career, I know exactly what he can bring to our team,” De Zerbi said. “He has the quality to change a game with his speed and ability in one-vs-one situations.”
Mudryk, who has 28 caps for Ukraine, is set to bolster Tottenham’s attacking options as the club aims to push for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
