Paul Pogba’s future at AS Monaco is in question once again after the midfielder suffered a fresh left thigh injury during the team’s first training session at England’s St George’s Park. The setback comes just as the 33-year-old was returning to group training following a prolonged battle with right-knee issues.
Pogba, who has played only one half of pre-season football for Monaco, was hoping to rebuild his fitness after serving 18 months of a four-year ban for doping. Last season, he managed just six Ligue 1 appearances, totalling 115 minutes.
Sources close to the club suggest Pogba remains far from the level of fitness required to start the Ligue 1 campaign, further clouding his prospects with Monaco after yet another injury blow.
